In a musical setting, for a semi-staged reading only, this new musical is being given two hearings by Barrington Stage Company's Musical Theatre Lab. This is NOT A REVIEW. The show has been undergoing heavy revisions - a new second act was presented at the first reading on Thusday, August 30.
Director Stephen Brackett has an excellent and professional cast of nine players to showcase this work, including last year's Berkshire Theatre Critics Award winner Ellen Harvey (for BSC's Company). The complicated show with some severe productions difficulties will be heard for a second time at 2pm on Friday, August 31.
For those people interested in the development of new works this is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the process, Audience reaction serves as an excellent guide to the creators of a new work.
